The Mountain Gateway Community College Local Board Medallion of Merit shall be awarded each year to individuals or organizations who have made a significant contribution to the betterment of life to the world, nation, Commonwealth, region, or MGCC’s service area.

The College Local Board shall determine the recipients of this award.  A committee of the Board, the MGCC President, and at least one college community member shall review the credentials of nominated persons and make recommendations to the entire Local Board for approval.

The number of awards presented each year shall be a maximum of two.  However, it may be the wishes of the Local Board to present as many as four awards in a year.
