Regional Institutional Accreditation (The Commission)

State Board Approvals & System Affiliations
- Virginia Community College System (VCCS): MGCC is one of 23 comprehensive community colleges operating within the statewide VCCS network.
- State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV): All two-year associate degree programs offered at MGCC are reviewed and approved by SCHEV, the Commonwealth's coordinating body for higher education.
- Governance & Curriculum Approval: All academic curricula are officially approved by the Mountain Gateway Community College Local Board and the State Board for Community Colleges.
- Federal & Veterans Approvals: The College is approved by the U.S. Department of Education for federal financial aid programs and by the Veterans Administration for GI Bill® and VA educational assistance benefits.
