What You Will Learn
Trainees develop practical mastery of semi-automatic gas-shielded arc welding in a fully equipped welding laboratory:
- GMAW / MIG Equipment Setup & Operation: Master machine settings, wire feed speed calibration, voltage controls, and equipment maintenance.
- Shielding Gases & Filler Metals: Learn the selection, application, and safety protocols for shielding gas mixtures, solid wires, and flux-cored filler rods.
- Welding Position Techniques: Practice flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead fillet and groove welds on steel plate configurations.
- OSHA-10 General Safety: Earn your OSHA-10 card by mastering workshop hazard identification, electrical safety, fire prevention, and ventilation rules.
- AWS Qualification Testing: Prepare for and sit for official AWS performance qualification testing in up to two position codes (included in tuition).
