The NCCER Electrical Program prepares students for high-wage, in-demand careers as licensed electricians across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. Grounded in safe work practices and the National Electrical Code® (NEC®), this comprehensive four-level curriculum combines applied electrical theory with intensive hands-on workshop practice. The program is fully aligned with National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) standards and meets the U.S. Department of Labor’s (DOL) Related Technical Instruction (RTI) requirements for registered apprenticeship programs.

What You Will Learn
Students progress through four comprehensive training levels, building practical trade mastery and technical decision-making skills:
- Electrical Safety & Basic Craft Skills: Master OSHA safety standards, personal protective equipment (PPE), hand/power tool safety, ladder/scaffolding protocols, and electrical hazard identification.
- Electrical Theory & Circuitry: Study Ohm’s Law, Kirchhoff’s Laws, AC/DC series and parallel circuits, conductor selection, and voltage drop calculations.
- National Electrical Code® (NEC®) Applications: Gain fluent navigation of the NEC® for proper box sizing, conductor ampacity, grounding/bonding, and raceway calculations.
- Residential & Commercial Wiring: Practice outlet, switch, and fixture installation, service entrance equipment setup, circuit breaker panel wiring, and raceway bending (EMT/Rigid).
- Industrial Controls & Advanced Systems: Install motors, motor controllers, transformers, relays, contactors, and industrial distribution panels.
Apprenticeship & Industry Credentialing
Completing all four levels of the NCCER Electrical curriculum equips trainees with credentials recognized nationwide by electrical contractors, industrial manufacturers, and trade unions:
- National NCCER Automated National Registry System (ANRS) Transcript & Cards
- U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) Apprenticeship Related Technical Instruction (RTI) Credit
- Preparation for Journeyman Electrician Licensure Testing
