Dabney S. Lancaster Community College is hosting a recruiting weekend for seven sports programs - six of them brand new - that are being offered by the College.

Jack Mason’s Tavern in Clifton Forge hosted a benefit evening during the restaurant’s regular business hours on December 10 to support the Dabney S. Lancaster Community College Educational Foundation.

The Virginia State Board for Community Colleges unanimously approved a new name for a college at its regular meeting today. The institution established in the early 1960s and named Dabney S. Lancaster Community College will become Mountain Gateway Community College.

The Local Board for Dabney S. Lancaster Community College accepted the 25-member Task Force recommendation of “Mountain Gateway Community College” as the new name to replace Dabney S. Lancaster. During the Local Board meeting Monday on the Clifton Forge campus, Dr. John Rainone, president of DSLCC reviewed the Task Force’s process of selecting the three names from a pool of over 430 names.
