Bank of Botetourt Dedicates Gift to MGCC Student Fund

Bank of Botetourt has decided to dedicate a $3,000 gift from the Virginia Foundation for Community College Education toward the Mountain Gateway Community College (formerly Dabney S. Lancaster Community College) Student Success Fund, it was announced recently by MGCC Educational Foundation Executive Director Joe Hagy.

DSLCC New Name Announcement Set Monday

The Dabney S. Lancaster Community College Renaming Task Force will recommend their pick for the College’s new name during the DSLCC Local Board’s regular meeting on Monday, October 18. The meeting begins at 4:30 pm in Moomaw Center on the Clifton Forge campus. The public is invited to attend.

DSLCC Splits Season Opener in NC

Dabney S. Lancaster Community College’s Men’s Basketball team split two games in their season openers on the road last weekend, according to Head Coach Brandon Garrett. The Roadrunners beat Mid-Atlantic Christian University’s Jayvee team in Elizabeth City, NC, 68-66, on Saturday, but lost to Johnston Community College in Smithfield, NC, 82-62, on Sunday.

DSLCC Hires Men's, Women's Basketball Coaches

Dabney S. Lancaster Community College has announced the hiring of two coaches for its brand new men's and women's basketball teams, with the season to begin in late fall of 2019.

Brandon Garrett of Buena Vista and Carl Thomas “Shorty" Wolfe, III of Covington will coach the men's and women's teams, respectively.
