The Diversity and Inclusion Committee identifies goals and actions that demonstrate our commitment to diversity. The committee works to create an equal and inclusive community. It serves as a forum and catalyst for MGCC programs and initiatives and manages the College Diversity Plan.
Mountain Gateway's Diversity and Inclusion Committee has developed a mission statement and vision to guide us in our endeavors to make our community college a place where students are valued, welcomed, and respected.
Mountain Gateway Community College changes lives, strengthens community, and provides pathways to success by making learning accessible to everyone. The Diversity and Inclusion Committee defines diversity as all the ways in which we differ from one another, and we see each individual as unique and valuable. We value these differences as strengths that contribute to a rich college environment, and we recognize that no one culture is intrinsically superior to another.
We are committed to welcoming new ways of engaging the unique contributions of all people and staying informed of the dimensions of diversity represented in our communities. Aiming to learn from each other, the committee reject all forms of prejudice and discrimination. To ensure this, the Diversity and Inclusion Committee will continue to be a catalyst and encourage MGCC to adopt inclusive practices and programs that create opportunity for all.
In the classroom and on campus, we envision a community where pathways to success are available to all in an environment where each individual is valued, welcomed, and respected.
If you have concerns, ideas, or comments regarding MGCC's diversity and inclusion initiatives, we want to hear from you.
