Dabney S. Lancaster Community College’s new Athletic Director Carl “Shorty” Wolfe III (left) and Men’s Basketball Coach Brandon Garrett, posing with DSLCC’s mascot, the Roadrunner, were introduced during “Bubbles, Bands and Brunch – Tailgate Edition,” hosted Sunday, September 15, by the DSLCC Educational Foundation. The biennial “Bubbles” fundraiser supports DSLCC students through scholarships, classroom equipment, student support services and other initiatives, has awarded more than $70,000 in student scholarships to more than 100 students since its inception in 2003. Part of the proceeds from the Tailgate Edition will go toward launching the new DSLCC athletic program. DSLCC’s basketball season begins November 2 against Mid-Atlantic Christian University’s jayvee team, and the first home game is November 15 at 8 pm against Bryant and Straton College from Ohio. Home games will be held in the DSLCC Armory on the Clifton Forge campus. The entire 2019-20 season schedule is posted on the DSLCC website www.dslcc.edu/athletics.
