(RICHMOND) –Virginia’s Community Colleges are making additional investments in their successful FastForward Virginia workforce training programs to help more Virginians earn workforce credentials for new careers and better provide for themselves and their family.  Dabney S.

Dabney S. Lancaster Community College will offer a new 18-hour Career Studies Certificate in unmanned aerial systems – more commonly known as drones – beginning with the fall semester, according to Dr. Ben Worth, Vice President for Academic Affairs. The program may be completed in two semesters.

An Open Registration Night for students to register for the fall semester at Dabney S. Lancaster Community College will be held Tuesday, July 16, from 4 to 8 pm in the DSLCC Library on the Clifton Forge campus.

A series of four-day "Black Rocket" camps focusing on digital arts and STEM subjects -- Science, Technology, Engineering and Math - for youngsters ages 8 through 14 is being offered this summer on the Dabney S. Lancaster Community College Clifton Forge campus.

Lancaster Community College, along with the Virginia Foundation for Community College Education, is pleased to announce a $4,800 grant from the Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Anthem, Inc., to help students succeed in college programs by relieving hunger among students.
